PungGyeong is a 7 to 10-min. walk from Daehangno, a heart of Korean history and culture packed with 100 small theaters and major tourist attractions, including Changgyeonggung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Jongmyo Shrine, and Seoul Fortress Wall. It is a cozy traditional Korean house (“hanok” in Korean) located near Sungkyunkwan, the highest educational institution in the Joseon period (1392-1910), and the National Children’s Science Center. We do not live in PungGyeong, but we can offer a tour guide service and take our group guests to nearby tourist attractions in Seoul. An ideal place for family and group tourists, PungGyeong is only 3 minutes from Sungkyunkwan University, various affordable cafes and restaurants that serve affordable yet tasty meals, pubs, and bowling alleys.
PungGyeong boasts a fully-equipped kitchen and a grill and a low wooden bench for BBQ parties with beer or wine. All rates include breakfast and bottled water. We also offer various programs, such as Korean cuisine experience, hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) wearing, yut-nori, a traditional board game played usually on New Year’s Day, jianzi, alkkagi, a traditional Korean board game, and other traditional Korean games for an extra fee. Banks, 24-hour stores, a laundromat, and fried chicken restaurants are located within 30 meters. In addition, Sungkyunkwan with the expansive courtyard, Myeongnyundang, the “Hall of Enlightenment” depicted on a KRW 1,000 bill, and the 500-year-old gingko tree in Sungkyunkwan capture the beauty of traditional Korean architecture.
